WELL-CHILD PROJECT- A CHILD BETWEEN THE AGES OF 2-6 WAS INTERVIEWED. COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT WAS EVALUATED USING THE DENVER TEST. THE CHILD'S DIET WAS ALSO EVALUATED USING MYPYRAMID.GOV FOOD ANALYSIS. NUTRIENT VALUES WERE COMPARED WITH THE DRIS FOR CHILDREN. THE CHILD'S GROWTH WAS ALSO EVALUATED USING GROWTH AND BMI CHARTS. AFTER ANALYSIS OF DIET AND GROWTH, RECOMMENDATIONS AND NUTRITION EDUCATION WAS GIVEN.

BULLETIN BOARD- MY GROUP CREATED AN EDUCATIONAL BULLETIN BOARD THAT WAS DISPLAYED IN AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL'S CAFETERIA. WE FEATURED ONE FRUIT AND VEGETABLE FROM EACH PART OF THE WORLD TO HELP ENCOURAGE THE DIVERSITY OF FOODS.
GRANT PROPOSAL- WORKING WITH FOOD SENSE THROUGH UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY, FOUR OF US WORKED ON A GRANT PROPOSAL TO PROMOTE THE EVENT FEAST UTAH. THE AIM OF THIS EVENT IS TO PROVIDE LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS WITH BETTER ACCESS TO LOCALLY GROWN FRUITS AND VEGETABLES BY TEACHING THEM HOW TO USE THEIR SNAP BENEFITS AT FARMER'S MARKETS. I ENJOYED DOING RESEARCH FOR THIS PROJECT AND LEARNING HOW TO WRITE THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF A GRANT PROPOSAL.
